Each of these sites are either on fire good or have on fire good elements (but lack overall fire). If I do the blog project for class, then, I hope to be like these guys. At least a little.

Being “The Greatest Show on Earth,” I had high expectations, which were met; however, the show brought up some interesting musings.

I wasn’t impressed with the faux-cirque du soliel, but there were several other stunts, like the human cannon, the tight rope walk, the trapeze artists and this weird “defying gravity” performance that were pretty awesome.

My favorites were the elephants, because I love a big, beautiful pachyderms. They are so cool.

The zebras sucked, they just aren’t very trainable, I don’t think, while the big cats (bengal and siberian tigers) looked much like my kitties: self-absorbed and resentful about being made to do something, but too prideful to back down from the challenge.

We had a blast and I discovered this new app for my crackberry called UberTwitter and it lets me upload pics directly to my
Twitter feed from my photo library, which is uber helpful coincidentally.

What I began thinking about were the lives of the performers and what they may or may not have to deal with regarding life and friends, as well as the animals and their take on that kind of life style.

I remembered something that everyone should experience now and again, and that is awe. The show was good; however, the little kids that were there were absolutely stunned with wonder and amazement. They were free enough to gasp and scream, and wave their glowing batons that I’m sure their parents paid way too much for. They were precious. They were innocent.

I think it is good to remember our more child like state of being because with out distractions of vanity and ego there is lots of awe and wonder right in front of our faces, which are only hidden when we don those shades of self.

She picked me up in Raleigh yesteday so that I could help her return some dresses to Cache and Dillards. My sister is very picky and didn’t like any of the THREE dresses that she had picked out, so Queen Middle Child (I’m the oldest, then her and then our brother) sent Servant Mother to return her dresses, and naturally I got roped into the whole process.

We went to the Mall, took back the dresses, had a lesson on branding from a guy behind the perfume counter and finally headed East. We were starving because as any woman knows, shopping is hard work, so we went where every starving woman goes: an Italian restaurant. Who can resist endless breadsticks and salad? I know, you’re totally right, no one.

So we are eating, talking and we are actually kind of pooped, full but pooped, and suddenly — I’m looking at my food, deciphering which caloric bite I want to take next…or do I? — and I look up to see mama birthing a humongous lemon seed from her mouth. Yes, a lemon seed and I thought it was a tooth. I was freaked for a sec.

Then, through that one second of silence, freaked outness, and wonder, the laugher grew…silently at first, until second number two and like a bomb, we exploded. I know at least one waiter stopped and several people looked because through our comic relief and so-tired-anything-is-funny-laugh, mama related that actually (she had been staring at the bread basket blankly) she leaned forward to find her straw and it went up her nose, to which she quickly pulled back so that no one saw. She then found her straw only to extract a lemon seed, and now in retrospect, a metaphorical booger. Yep, booger.

So we just continued to laugh like crazies, eat and finally leave.

Good food, good laughs and good times and lemon seeds. Good stuff.

SUNDAY:

The preacher brought a redbone coon hound to Church.

He gave a Children Church sunday lesson on hounds and then sent them outside to see a, “real live” dog.

He also says things like, “if you are doing (insert sin) then you are eating the devil’s corn.”

He is very smart, eccentric even, and a good hearted preacher, but a little strange. My mama says I shouldn’t say stuff like that but I’m just reporting an observation.

Speaking of her, if she would draw that cartoon/illustration we thought of the other day (toes and feet washing) I’ll host her work here.

She was a nationally published cartoonist/humor illustrator. Now she is the proud mother of Me, not so much of the other two (JUST KIDDING) and is the right hand man to my daddy’s farm. She’s awesome.

Whew. Doesn’t look like a lot of work but it was.

Afterwards, me, my boyfriend, and one of our girlfriends that I’ll refer to as, “USS Greenie,” went to see “Shutter Island.” It was very good in a way. Twisted.
